About Ina Oktoberfest
It's All About Coming Together
To summarize the history of Oktoberfest: the original Oktoberfest in Munich was started as a celebration leading to a wedding, and modern Oktoberfest's closing ceremony coicides with Germany's reunification day when the Berlin Wall came down. Ina Oktoberfest is founded on the same principle of coming together, by bringing this quintessentially Barvarian culture and combining it with the local Japanese culture. Taking it a step further, we strive to build a strong community by coming together and partnering with Ina valley businesses as well as we raise money for charity to give back into the community.
Raising Funds For Charity
Following our concept of coming together, Ina Oktoberfest is a non-profit festival raising money and donating it to charity. Every year we select a worthy charity and after the event in October, we make our donation. In 2022, with the news of the humanitarian crisis in the Ukraine, we selected the United Nations' Relief Fund to dontate the ¥83,650 that we raised. Part of what helps increase our donation are the activities and items from the main event booth. Items related to the charity like the locally grown sunflower seeds in 2022, the raffle tickets, and Kid's Fair activities all help to increase the total money we can raise each year to give to a noble cause.
